May 8, 2021, Pro-Stitcher Premium: Just The Basics

May 8, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm CDT

$100.00

Quilters, spring is here, and outside my studio window, baby birds are leaving the nest and learning to fly!  If you’ve been thinking about stepping outside your comfort zone, let this be a sign!  That’s why I’m offering the perfect introductory course for new stitchers– Just The Basics!

We’ll begin our course by breaking down the features, tools, and user interface.  I’ll show you how to easily update PSP, and where to go for additional support options.  Once we’re comfortable in our working knowledge of the program, we’ll move on to what we came here for—design and execution!

I’ll introduce you to PSP in Simulation mode, quilt layouts, and edge-to-edge to help pare down the time you spend before the machine.  I’ll show you the easy way to download, import, and install purchased designs, too.   You’ll learn all the tools for repeating and wrapping, clever tricks for advancing your quilts, such as the drag-and-drop method, how to avoid the dreaded yet mythical “pattern drift”, and how to gracefully recover from disruptions, such as power outages and thread breakage.  You will master the skills of repositioning and restarting – I promise!

As always, you’ll be free each day to ask any questions that you have. Whether you want to know more about the material we’ve covered in class, or you want to ask about other quilting challenges, I’d love to hear about them and help you reach solutions.

Class size is limited – reserve your spot early!  Applicants to this class should be comfortable using Zoom to communicate, and should ensure the stability of their connection, as well as the fidelity of their voice and video communication prior to the day of the class! A simple Zoom tutorial can be found here.
