Pro-Stitcher Premium: Basics and Beyond, March 13-14, 2021

March 13, 2021 @ 9:00 am - March 14, 2021 @ 5:30 pm CST

Quilters, the time is now!  If you’ve been burning to take your craft to the next level, it’s your lucky day!

I’m happy to announce the next session of my popular virtual class: Pro-Stitcher Premium, Basics and Beyond.  In this comprehensive two-day course, you’ll learn all the ins and outs of the software, and how to apply that knowledge at the quilting machine.

We’ll begin our course by breaking down the features, tools, and user interface.  I’ll show you how to easily update PSP, and where to go for additional support options.  Once we’re comfortable in our working knowledge of the program, we’ll move on to what we came here for—design and execution!

I’ll teach you all about simulating quilt layouts, for both edge-to-edge and custom quilt treatments, to help pare down the time you spend before the machine.  I’ll show you the easy way to download, import, and install purchased designs, too.   You’ll learn all the tools for repeating and wrapping, clever tricks for advancing your quilts, such as the drag-and-drop method, how to avoid the dreaded yet mythical “pattern drift”, and how to gracefully recover from disruptions, such as power outages and thread breakage.  You will master the skills of repositioning and restarting – I promise!

We’ll expand our creativity by working with multiple designs simultaneously, we’ll set corners with borders for seamless stitchouts, and I’ll teach you how to create effective areas for all kinds of custom quilting, including irregular spaces and non-traditional quilt tops.

You’ll love knowing how to use the Move, Mark, and Record tools to tackle jobs easily, and I’ll show you exactly how to use the cropping tools to achieve beautiful finishes without overstitching!

We’ll round out the weekend by learning to transition to and from Pro-Stitcher Designer, and as always, you’ll be free each day to ask any questions that you have.  Whether you want to know more about the material we’ve covered in class, or you want to ask about other quilting challenges, I’d love to hear about them and help you reach solutions.

My virtual classroom is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, so don’t miss this fabulous remote learning opportunity!

Class size is limited – reserve your spot early!  Applicants to this class should be comfortable using Zoom to communicate, and should ensure the stability of their connection, as well as the fidelity of their voice and video communication prior to the day of the class! A simple Zoom tutorial can be found here.

What sort of equipment is required for the class? Will there be breaks during the day? I’m very much a beginner and I’ve only had the machine since December. Will I be ok in the class?

Cate, only your laptop or desktop is required for taking this class. There is a 30 minute lunch and two fifteen minute breaks during each day of class, and I assume that you’re a beginner, too, so we start with the basics and go forward. I think you’ll be fine, but if you want to discuss it more, feel free to emails me at: [email protected].
