Quilters, do you think of yourselves as artists?  For all the love and effort you invest into your quilts, I certainly hope so.  But if there’s ever been a doubt in your mind, this is the class to clear it up! This September 18th and 19th, join me for the virtual renaissance of one of my most popular courses: Art and Stitch for Quilters! In this hands-on class, you’ll develop all the skills you need to design and implement beautiful patterns and motifs from scratch using the extensive catalogue of tools available in the Art and Stitch software. It’s time to stretch our imaginations and reach beyond the basics!  If you’re ready to learn how to make use of PSP’s stunning new features and functions– and all the wonderful ways to integrate with the old– this is the class for you! We’ll begin our course by breaking down the features, tools, and user interface.  I’ll show you how to easily update PSP, and where to go for additional support options.  Once we’re comfortable in our working knowledge of the program, we’ll move on to what we came here for—design and execution!I’ll teach you all about simulating quilt layouts, for both edge-to-edge and custom quilt treatments, to help pare down the time you spend before the machine.  I’ll show you the easy way to download, import, and install purchased designs, too.   You’ll learn all the tools for repeating and wrapping, clever tricks for advancing your quilts, such as the drag-and-drop method, how to avoid the dreaded “pattern drift”, and how to gracefully recover from disruptions, such as power outages and thread breakage. Contrary to what we see in cartoons, our friends in the southern hemisphere aren’t really upside down, but when Australian Quilters join my classes, their sleep schedules certainly are!  With that in mind, I’m happy to offer this learning opportunity timed specifically for our Australian Quilters!  At 5:00 pm at my home in Texas, it will be 7:00 am in Perth and 10:00 am in Melbourne; I hope that will work for those of you who've been asking for Pro-Stitcher Designer education.Once we’re grounded, we’ll leap right in to using the Draw and Edit tools to create designs from scratch, and save them for use at our machines.  In addition to original work, you’ll learn to draw and design from inspiration– importing motifs from outside sources, (or your own work for modification), and directly from life, using the Auto-Digitizing and Magic Wand features!
