Quilters, as spring has come on, I’ve been spending more time in my garden. There’s something so satisfying about watching little seedlings flourish together!  And these small-group classes tickle me in the same way!  You and your peers will learn everything you need to know about Pro-Stitcher Designer and be amazed at how much you can grow in just two days! In this twelve hour seminar, we’ll begin the journey with a quick rundown of PSD’s user interface, tools, updates, and available online resources.Once we’re grounded, we’ll leap right in to using the Draw and Edit tools to create designs from scratch, and save them for use at your machine!  In addition to original work, you’ll learn to draw and design from inspiration– importing motifs from outside sources, (or your own work for modification), and directly from life, using the Auto-Digitizing and Magic Wand features! You’ll practice with PSD’s many tools, and learn how and when to apply each one– discovering how to Repeat, Reflect, and Carousel your designs, Split, Connect, Trim, Weld, and Intersect them, and even use the Echo and Rays tools!  I will teach you how to create motifs, continuous line designs, and cropped artworks, that fit […]

We’ll begin our course by breaking down the features, tools, and user interface.  I’ll show you how to easily update PSP, and where to go for additional support options.  Once we’re comfortable in our working knowledge of the program, we’ll move on to what we came here for—design and execution!I’ll teach you all about simulating quilt layouts, for both edge-to-edge and custom quilt treatments, to help pare down the time you spend before the machine.  I’ll show you the easy way to download, import, and install purchased designs, too.   You’ll learn all the tools for repeating and wrapping, clever tricks for advancing your quilts, such as the drag-and-drop method, how to avoid the dreaded “pattern drift”, and how to gracefully recover from disruptions, such as power outages and thread breakage. You will master the skills of repositioning and restarting – I promise!
