Hey, Stitchers, it’s time to sew creative!  Our friends Marsha and Izzy Cowan of Be Sew Creative are kindly inviting us into their quilting community and sponsoring my latest two-day, twelve-hour class! In this seminar, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Pro-Stitcher Designer.  By the end of class, you’ll be able to create your very own quilting designs, edit existing designs, and so much more! This December 10th, I’m coming together with my friends Susan and Corrine of The Sewing Works to help you save a few stitches with this six-hour workshop we’ve created to teach you everything you need to know about Pro-Stitcher Premium. We’ll begin by familiarizing ourselves with PSP’s extensive catalogue of features, settings, and tools, including those coming soon!  Next, we'll explore how to use simulation, and I'll explain the differences between designs, workspaces, and areas, how to update the program, easy importing of designs that you've purchased on made yourself, and much, much more! You’ll learn techniques for creating an array of quilt layouts, including wrapped and off-set designs, simple & speedy methods for advancing our quilts, tricks for dealing with common ailments such as gaps and pattern drift, and how to easily recover from interruptions such as bobbin changes, thread breaks, and pattern realignments. Designers, has the frost on the windowpanes been filling you with inspiration faster than you can stitch it out? Well, worry not! This January 6th and 7th, I’m hosting a comprehensive seminar to teach longarm-users of all experience levels everything necessary to quickly create beautiful quilts using Pro-Stitcher Designer.We’ll begin our journey with an introduction to the user interface, features, functions, shortcuts, and resources available to PSD users. Once we’re comfortable navigating the trickier sections of the program, we’ll leap right into design! Using the drawing and editing tools, we’ll create our own artwork from scratch while exercising with essential techniques such as Trimming, Welding, Repeating, and Reflecting patterns.We’ll learn to draw and design from inspiration, as well! By using the auto-digitization feature, we’ll learn to import patterns from life, as well as how to work with patterns we’ve purchased or downloaded for free from the internet, and how to audition them over different quilttops! Good things must come in twos! Our gracious host Angela Walters has invited us back for a second shindig! This January 16th and 17th, I’ll be teaching a two-day, twelve-hour class sponsored by Quilting Is My Therapy designed to teach ambitious stitchers everything they need to know about quilting with Pro-Stitcher Premium. On our first day together, we’ll begin by learning to navigate Pro-Stitcher’s essential functions and lesser-known wonders, how to easily update our program, and get all excited about the upcoming new features! Next, we’ll move on to using simulation, importing and saving Designs, understanding Workspaces and Areas. We’ll create several different edge-to-edge layouts that seamlessly wrap, the easy method for advancing the quilt that include solutions for gaps and pattern drift. We’ll begin our journey by learning to navigate PSD’s intuitive interface, with its many features and time-saving shortcuts.  Next, we’ll get hands on, using the drawing and editing tools to create our own designs, and save them for use at our machines.  We’ll learn to forge designs from inspiration, use the Magic Wand and Auto-Digitization tools to create beautiful motifs, and to modify existing designs with PSD’s array of tools! Our journey begins with familiarizing ourselves with PSP’s features, settings, user interface, and inventive tool applications.  Next, we’ll delve into designs.  We’ll create our own edge-to-edge quilt layouts and also download, update, import, and save designs from other sources.  We’ll learn crafty methods for advancing our quilts such as the the drag-and-drop, and how to quickly recover from interruptions like bobbin changes and tension issues. To achieve greater creative freedom, we’ll learn to juggle multiple designs simultaneously, and to work with irregular spaces and nontraditional quilt layouts. We’ll learn how to set ideal areas for all kinds of custom quilting, and to use Move, Mark and Record, and the rest of PSP’s suite of easy-to-use tools.
