The weather in Albuquerque should be fabulous after Labor Day, Quilters, and you're not going to want to miss this event!  Four fun-filled days of digital quilting education; two days of Pro-Stitcher Premium followed by two days of Art and Stitch. Ann Silva's is a Handi Quilter award winning retailer, and I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to meet you there. These classes cater to all skill levels. New users will learn from the ground up, experienced users will fill in the blanks, and everyone will learn some advanced techniques in this comprehensive class series, featuring lecture/demo, simulation, and hands-on methods. Class size is limited – reserve your spot early. I sure hope to see you there! Come to class with your laptop and mouse, or your Pro-Stitcher tablet, a mouse, and keyboard. The newest version of both Pro-Stitcher Premium and Art and Stitch should be loaded on your device. If you need assistance with this process, plan to arrive thirty minutes early and I’ll help you get ready for class. Don’t forget your power cords!

Here's the event you've been waiting for, Quilters! Four great days of education; two days of Pro-Stitcher Premium followed by two days of Art and Stitch, hosted by Anna's Sewing Center, a super Handi Quilter retailer. North Olmsted, part of the Cleveland metro area, is only a few minutes from the airport making this the perfect location for your Fall getaway! We'll use some hands-on at the Pro-Stitcher and some simulation on our laptops or tablets.  Art and Stitch students will use laptops or tablets and will need a keyboard and mouse. These classes are for all skill levels.  New and experienced users will learn and grow their skills. Come to class with a laptop, or the Pro-Stitcher tablet with the keyboard, and a wired mouse. If help is needed to install Pro-Stitcher Simulator or Art and Stitch, arrive at least thirty minutes before class start time for assistance.

Talk about seeing stars! This Halloween, I’m teaming up with Angela Walters of Quilting Is My Therapy to host a two-day comprehensive seminar that will teach you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Pro-Stitcher! Day One will begin with an overview of Pro-Stitcher’s tools, features and settings (including recent updates!), followed by a demonstration of how to download, import, and save designs. We’ll explore creating a variety of edge-to-edge Quilt layouts-- including wrapping and offsetting-- and learn the drag & drop method for advancing the quilt. We’ll learn how to reposition and resume our Quilts after interruptions like thread breaks, and finish the day with an introduction to simulating your quilt-top using Pro-Stitcher, so that you can design even when you’re away from your machine!On Day Two, we’ll take things to the next level by learning about Pro-Stitcher’s advanced functionality! We’ll learn to work simultaneously with multiple designs, stitch seamless borders with corners, and go in-depth on cropping, including how to effectively set your areas for custom Quilting. I’m so pleased by how Quilting brings people together! This Saturday, November 7th, I’ll be partnering with Calico Gals of Syracuse, NY to host a two-day, eight-hour event that aims to teach you everything you need to know about Longarm Quilting with Pro-Stitcher. On the first day, we’ll begin by exploring all the features of Handi Quilter Longarm machines and frames. We’ll learn how to set tension on the bobbin and machine, we’ll discuss needles and thread, and how to best load your quilt onto a longarm frame. We’ll learn to select the right thread and designs for our projects, and touch on free-motion quilting, ruler work, and how best to apply both.After lunch, we’ll continue with an exploration of more free motion quilting techniques that we can use to fill our quilt space with fun and easy designs. We’ll talk about how to pick the perfect accents for backgrounds, how to create vivid textures with fills, both large and small. On day two, we move on to Pro-Stitcher!  Our friends at Quilt Mercantile are making it possible despite all obstacles! Four days of socially distant quilting education led by yours truly, and available to students of all levels. Whether you’re just now ready to take the leap to Longarm Quilting, or trying to master Pro-Stitcher’s suite of Premium and Designer tools, you can move months along your journey with these 24 hours of instruction. Day one will consist of an overview of the key features of Pro-Stitcher Premium. We’ll learn to effortlessly navigate the program; how, when and why to update it, and how to simulate your quilting while away from your machine. Hey, Quilters!  I am so happy to announce a milestone in my own journey!  This November 21 - 22, I’d love for you to join me for the first of many classes that I’ll be hosting and sponsoring independently! This event is designed to teach you everything you need to know to make the most of Handi Quilter’s Pro-Stitcher Premium. Whether you’re just starting out with your Longarm, or already an old pro, this two-day seminar will bring out the potential in your process, helping your Quilting become easier and more elegant than ever! We’ll explore all Pro-Stitcher’s key features and functions, including the many new features coming in future updates. Quilters, have you ever felt out of your depth when it comes to creating and implementing designs? Well, worry not! I’m pleased to announce that this December 2nd and 3rd, I’ll be hosting a comprehensive seminar created to teach my fellow longarmers everything there is to know about Handi-Quilter’s premier digitization program, Pro-Stitcher Designer! We’ll begin our journey by familiarizing ourselves with PSD’s interface, its many shortcuts, and the numerous resources available for both students and designers. Next, we’ll get hands on, using the drawing and editing tools to create our own designs, and save them for our machine formats. We’ll learn to design from inspiration, using the auto-digitization feature to create easy-to-work with motifs, import new artwork, and modify existing designs with PSD’s array of tools!  In the latter half of our course, I'll teach you the more complex properties of individual tools in order to gain amazing control over your quilt-tops.  We’ll learn to split & seamlessly connect designs, create continuous line designs, and easily move our designs, and areas, from the program to Pro-Stitcher Premium, and back again!  I'll even show you how to audition designs over our quilt tops.
